Weight Control : Herbal Maintenance and Weight Control Program

Herbal Maintenance and Weight Control Program

Common Sense® Maintenance addresses every system in the body, from the master gland to the least gland, the endocrine, digestive, eliminative, bloodstream, lymphatics, and nervous system. Every organ in each system is directly made stronger by Common Sense® Maintenance because cleanliness will immune us against everything. Common Sense® Maintenance simply cleanses the entire system and rebuilds every cell, bone, tissue, cartilage, etc. in the body. A clean body is its own defense. Cleanliness helps the body to seek its own weight, like water seeks its own level.

ALFALFA
contains the same kind of minerals found in sea kelp. Alfalfa feeds the pituitary gland which is the master gland of the body.

BARBERRY
acts on the liver, promoting the secretion of bile. Dilates blood vessels thus lowering blood pressure. It is also good for jaundice, diarrhea, anemia, and blood building.

BEE POLLEN
is a pure energy food that contains much needed minerals, trace minerals, enzymes, and vitamins. It is also a safe and natural steroid which is much needed when the body is cleansing.

BLACK COHOSH
is used for its calming effect on the nervous system without side effects and allows the colon to relax at the same time.

BURDOCK ROOT
is a great blood purifier and removes acid from the bloodstream. Acid is caused by mucus throughout the body, especially in the lungs.

CAPSICUM
is often referred to as Cayenne Pepper. It acts as an herbal catalyst. All herbs work better because of the presence of Capsicum, as it is a blood circulator. Due to its properties, it has been known to cure ulcers, prevent strokes, heart attacks, shock, stop internal and external bleeding, and many other properties too numerous to mention.

CASCARA SAGRADA
means "sacred bark" and is the bark of a tree. It is an intelligent herbal laxative because it works via the liver and gallbladder. It is non-habit-forming. The bitter gall of the gallbladder is the detergent for the colon. Cascara Sagrada simply strengthens the gallbladder. The gallbladder releases the gall through the small intestines, enters the colon, then gives the colon its peristalsis action which starts to move the waste off the wall of the colon. This is why sometimes you may feel a little griping when you first start taking Cascara Sagrada as it may have been years since the colon has had any peristalsis, and the waste against the wall may be so hard that there is some discomfort for a few days.

CHICKWEED
helps to remove fatty tissue from the body and is the equivalent to lecithin. It also helps to turn mucus back into water so it can be flushed from the body by Cascara Sagrada.

DANDELION
is probably the greatest blood builder in the world. Taken faithfully, it can get rid of anemia in approximately 90 days.

FENNEL
is for the appetite as well as for those who suffer with a lot of gas. It is also an aromatic herb which can be used for cooking. We use it in Common Sense® for its ability to dispel gas as the colon is cleansed.

GINGER
circulates blood in the pelvic area which is vital to the colon. Good for pregnant women who have morning sickness. Also, good for relieving congestion and fevers. When used in bath water, it relieves tired and achy muscles.

HAWTHORN BERRIES
are for the repair and rebuilding of the heart. In fact, the hawthorn berry is shaped somewhat like the heart. Every ninety days our blood is new; every eleven months the cells in our body are new; and every two years the bones, including teeth, are new. This means every eleven months we have a new heart, but the condition of the new heart is dependent upon what we build it with. Eating a diet of live food and hawthorn berries is sure to build a much better heart at the end of every eleventh month.

JUNIPER BERRIES
strengthens and tones the entire urinary tract. Used for kidneys and bladder problems. It increases the flow of urine and helps elimination of passive congestion from the kidneys and bladder. It is nature’s answer to dialysis treatment.

KELP
is sea vegetation and more. Sea vegetation is a great mystery to man. Unlike the vegetation on land that has its root in the earth, sea vegetation is anchored on the ocean floor with its roots pointing toward the sun. Due to this strange occurrence, sea vegetation cannot be polluted, even by radiation, while all sea creatures can be killed by pollution. In fact, since science is now using sea vegetation to fertilize land plants, it has been found that land plants become very resistant to plant disease. This is one of the reasons for the use of sea vegetation in Common Sense®. Sea vegetation also contains iodine which helps our thyroid. Although the thyroid is only about one inch in size and weighs about one ounce, it is a powerful organ and must work correctly if the body is to function properly. It regulates our temperature, heartbeat, and metabolism, which is what regulates our weight. Overactive (underweight) thyroid or underactive (overweight) thyroid matters not to sea vegetation, its job is to make the thyroid work right.

LICORICE
is a natural cortisone. Cortisone runs the adrenalin, which is what handles our stress and is our fight-or-flight gland. Our energy is derived from our adrenals, which explains why a little 98-pound woman can get excited and lift a 6,000-pound car off of her child.

MULLEIN
cleanses the lungs of mucus. No other nation in history has ever had as much mucus as Americans. Mucus is the side effect of processed food, which kills more of us than all diseases combined. Mucus is the first sign that we are sick in the snotty-nosed kid, and it is the last thing we hear before we die, it is called the “death rattle.” The lungs are one of four eliminative organs; and when we have a cold, it removes the waste from the lungs. A cold is our ally. Mullein thins mucus out and allows it to be removed from the lungs. Breathing is the most important thing we do. Asthma, tuberculosis, emphysema, yeast infections, candida albicans, pneumonia, and a host of other so-called diseases come from the mucus found in the lungs. Mullein serves a great purpose in Common Sense®.

PAPAYA
serves the digestive system with enzymes. It also sweetens the stomach to allow the other herbs found in Common Sense® to work better as the digestive enzymes absorb the nutrients.

PAU D’ARCO
is the inner bark. Found in South America, it has properties that strengthen the entire immune system. Due to processed food and the immunization program that has been done for more than 100 years in America, we are in desperate need of an immune builder. Pau D’Arco, or “Taheebo” as it is sometimes called, serves that much needed purpose.

RED CLOVER
is a strong blood purifier. Used to help fight cancer, psoriasis, boils, and acne. Relaxes nerves and the entire system.

ROSE HIPS
contain Vitamin C found in its natural state. Nothing heals without Vitamin C. Rose hips has so many other properties when taken as rose hips instead of just Vitamin C. One of those properties is collagen, an anti-aging property that helps to avert wrinkles.

SAFFLOWER
is the third pivotal herb. It neutralizes uric acid. Americans eat tons of meat each year and meat contains uric acid. Since the body has no facilities for getting rid of uric acid, the only thing it can do to protect the body is send water to dilute the acid. As the water grows old and mixes with toxins, the water hardens and turns into fatty tissue and cellulite. The use of safflower neutralizes the uric acid causing the body not to have to use water in self defense. This causes chickweed, which cuts up fatty tissue, to better do its job without more fatty tissue building up. Now cascara sagrada can do its job of taking the waste and fatty tissue from the body. This is why cascara sagrada, chickweed, and safflower are the three pivotal herbs in Common Sense®. Together, these three herbs are what help us get our weight under control and keep it there.

SKULLCAP
is a great nervine. Nervines in the herb kingdom do not work on the head; they work on the nervous system through the spine. Not only does skullcap relax the nerves, but it will also rebuild the nerve sheath (the insulation) that protects the nerves. I personally have taken as many as 10 capsules of skullcap at a time, and being a pilot, have flown a helicopter with no side effects. We have nervines in every vegetable we eat; this is why animals that graze are so calm. However, humans cook or process all these essential properties from the herbs, our greatest source for nervines. Calcium and laxatives are all found in the greenery of the earth.

SLIPPERY ELM
is one of the most important herbs in Common Sense® for it is the protective coating for the colon wall. This is where almost all of our troubles begin, because the waste from the colon leaks directly into the bloodstream when there is no protection. Therefore, slippery elm may be referred to as nature’s acidophilus. It also serves as an aid to digestion. It is good for ulcers, sensitive stomachs, and is also a mild diuretic.

VALERIAN
is a powerful nervine. It quiets, calms, and has a healing effect on the nervous system. The drug, valium, was synthetically made from the valerian root. It is good for promoting sleep, heart palpitations, circulatory, epilepsy, headaches, hangovers, menstruation, and afterpains from childbirth. It has no narcotic effect.
